Printing Art Using a Typewriter in A Way You Have Never Seen Before
Art is a very fluid form of
expression with few boundaries and constraints. Paintings and drawings are the
first things that come to mind when people think of art.
This article discusses a very unusual
type of art practiced by James Cook of England, an amazing and extremely
creative artist. If you've ever heard the expression "a picture is worth a
thousand words," it's time to see the picture made up of thousands of
letters. Let us clarify if you are perplexed. This inventive artist literally
prints pictures using typewriters. If you're still perplexed, he types letters
and symbols on blank paper to make a visually appealing image.

James has created over 200
typewritten drawings in the last seven years. James uses nearly 50 typewriters
to create his stunning artwork, the majority of which have been generously
donated by fans of his work. He has created artwork for celebrities, television
presenters, musicians, and corporations using typewriters.
“Each drawing is assembled from a variety of characters, letters and punctuation marks using the forty-four keys of a typical typewriter. Information is overlaid and the keys are tapped at variable pressures to achieve tonal shading.”
- James Cook.
